Muhammad set a world record (52.16) in the 400 hurdles when Drake Stadium hosted the 2019 USA Outdoor Championships. Muhammad, who earned a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics, ran a world leading time of 53.88 April 30 to win her first ever Drake Relays crown in the women's 400 hurdles. Ross, who recently won his second straight NCAA Outdoor 400 title for North Carolina A&T, set a Drake Relays record in the men's university-college 400 in 44.95, while running the anchor leg on the Aggies' 4x100 relay which set another Drake Relays record of 38.84. The list of performers competing at the national championships also includes 19 athletes who captured titles at the 2022 Drake Relays including the meet's outstanding men's and women's performers in sprinter Randolph Ross and long hurdler Dalilah Muhammad, respectively. Crouser has won the last four Drake Relays men's invitational shot put titles dating back to 2018.
